sky dome lamp finally cut the evening kid noise glare

just got the brightech sky dome torchiere for around 70 bucks and its been a lifesaver in our seattle living room. the dimmable setting lets me keep it low while the kids are yelling and running around during my evening calls, no more harsh overhead light messing with my laptop screen. only tiny thing is the base feels a bit light if my toddler decides to hug it but so far so good, warm glow makes the whole space cozier after a long remote day.

got mine at 62 with the free ship and its holding up better than my old 40 dollar one from target. the low dim actually cuts the screen glare without waking the baby upstairs which is the real win for me

i was kinda skeptical at first thinking a torchiere for 70 would just be another cheap bright thing that'd bug my eyes more during those evening zooms. but after the support guy walked me thru the dimmer settings it actually does cut the glare without killing the room vibe. my kids are still chaos monsters but at least i can hear the calls now. id grab another for the bedroom.

we got our second one last month as a housewarming gift for my buddy in portland and hes been texting me nonstop about how it cuts the evening glare during his zoom calls too. his kids are even rowdier than ours so its been a total win for him. love that this site always has the good stuff when i need to gift something reliable
